This award recognises the upset that the employee has suffered -  it is not made to punish the employer.

When assessing injury to feeling awards, the Tribunal must have regard to the “Vento bands” which are usually increased annually

For claims presented on or after 6 April 2022 the bands of compensation which can be awarded  are as follows:-

  • £990 - £9,900 (for less serious cases);
  • £9,900 - £29,600 (for serious cases); and
  • £29,600 - £49,300 (for the most serious cases)
