Did you know that the minimum wage changes in 2022?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT AN ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE IS ?

Most owners don’t.

As part of the Government’s plan to reach net Zero they have based this plan on most properties attaining a C band rating or less by 2035, but as a large number of consumers do not actually understand what an EPC rating is, how are these to be improved.

Research has found that the average cost of energy efficiency improvements to properties can cost around £8,000 but this rises to around £25,000 for the lower rated properties of F and G bands.

When asked, consumers commented that they would be influenced to change their lifestyle to assist with climate changes if either an incentive was offered or legislation changed to insist on these changes.

There is going to be an importance in the future to know what EPC ratings properties will be and how they can be improved.

It is over to the Government to decide what the next steps will be.
