Grandparents' rights to see their grandchildren

Grandparents’ rights to see their grandchildren

Do you know that a grandparent does not have an automatic right to access to their grandchildren?

However, the family courts do recognise that grandparents can play an invaluable role in their grandchildren’s lives. There are legal mechanisms for grandparents to ask for contact with their grandchildren.

Grandparents should always try to reach an agreement with the parents of a child, but if this is not possible then grandparents can, in some instances, make an application to Court.

If you would like help and advice regarding access to a grandchild contact David Bannister now on 01606 74301.
