Released under investigation – update

You may recall our legal news article published on 23^rd May 2019. The Government plans to review laws that have left thousands of suspects languishing in legal limbo but the review has been ‘kicked into the long grass’ as Parliament has been dissolved for the general election.

The Law Society has called for time limits on release under investigation with accused individuals to be updated regularly and a central register of the number of people in the process.
