Charity climb

Local man, Ian Slater of Winnington, Northwich recently organised a charity climb up Ben Nevis to raise money for St Lukes Cheshire Hospice.

Ian completed the 4,406 foot climb on Saturday 4th June with his team of friends – David Moore, Mark Brennan, Shaun Brennan, Paul Clays, Mark Clays, David Carson, David Williamson, Kevin Ashley and Paul Lightfoot.

The climb was done in memory of their good friend David Collins (Dougie) who sadly passed away on 13th January this year. Dougie spent his final weeks at St Lukes Cheshire Hospice where he was looked after with great care.

They have raised in excess of £2,000 but final figures will be known in the next couple of weeks as the final donations are made.

The team wish to thank Rowleys Contract Hire (Northwich) who kindly donated the minibus for the journey to Ben Nevis.

Ian’s wife Tracey works for mosshaselhurst Solicitors and after forging close links whilst Ian was organising the climb mosshaselhurst has now become Business Buddies with St. Lukes Cheshire Hospice.  In addition to raising money for the charity they will also be holding free advice clinics at St. Lukes Cheshire Hospice in the near future.  Events and Clinics will be advertised on mosshaselhurst and St. Lukes Website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
