Mark Evans - Solicitor

Mark Evans has over 20 years experience of criminal litigation and client focused work in London and the North West.  He is a CLAS Accredited Police Station Representative and Duty Solicitor. 

Sarah Hamblett - Solicitor

Sarah Hamblett  joined mosshaselhurst in February 2025.  Sarah gained BA (Hons) in English Literature and French at the University of Manchester before studying a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and qualifying as a Solicitor in 2007.

Sarah’s work is focused in the North West but she has experience of defending clients nationally.  Her experience covers a wealth of cases both pre and post-charge, with cases in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Court.  Some of Sarah’s cases have attracted both local and national media coverage.  Her caseload has included:  historic sexual offences, internet offences, assaults, weapons offences and public order offences.  Sarah also has many years’ experience of defending motoring offences, including complex legal arguments and technical defences. 

In recent years, Sarah has undertaken further studies in relation to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.  Many of her clients have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.  She has experience of working effectively with Court appointed intermediaries so that client’s are able to give their best evidence at Court and achieve the best outcome.

Guilty Plea Motoring offence (Summary Only)

£500.00 plus 20%VAT £100 = £600 plus disbursements, this includes one attendance for instructions and advice and representation at one hearing only and includes mileage and parking.  This is for Cheshire Courts only.  Attendance at other Courts will include charges at our hourly rate of £275.00 plus 20% VAT £55 = £330.

Likely disbursements are medical reports, expert reports on blood alcohol or drug contents, or expert reports on traffic accidents.

Non-Guilty Plea Motoring offence (Trial) (Summary Only)

£1,400.00 plus 20%VAT £280 = £1680 plus disbursements, this includes two attendances, one for instructions and advice and one for preparation of a proof of evidence, and representation at one plea hearing and one day Trial and includes mileage and parking. The fees include up to two witnesses each side to give live evidence. This is for Cheshire Courts only.  Attendance at other Courts will include charges at our hourly rate of £275.00 plus 20% VAT £55 = £330.00.

Likely disbursements are medical reports, expert reports on blood alcohol or drug contents, or expert reports on traffic accidents.

The first hearing will be a plea and Trial Fix and the Second Hearing the Trial. Usually, if convicted, the Court will try to sentence on the day, but sometimes a third sentencing hearing is required. The trial date is usually within 3 months of the plea, but not always , depending upon the availability of witnesses and Court time.

Either way Offences & Indictable Only Offences

Representation will be charged at an hourly rate of £275.00 plus 20% VAT £55 = £330.00. It may be possible to agree fee limits and to fix fees depending on the work involved, this can be discussed and agreed at initial interview.
