Paws for thought – have you made provision in your Will for your pet(s)?

You will be aware that Britain is known to be a nation of animal lovers, with 50% of UK adults owning a pet.  This includes approximately 10.9 million pet cats and 9.9 million pet dogs (surprisingly only 900,000 rabbits!).

But did you know that in the eyes of the law your furry friends are considered “property” in the same way as a mobile phone, a house, a car, etc?

Whilst you cannot leave a bequest to your beloved pet in a Will, you can make provision in a Will for your pet to be taken care of for the rest of their natural lives after you have passed on.

Do not leave the future of your pet to chance – make specific provisions for their care in a properly drafted Will.
