Lasting Power of Attorney - Do you need one?

A Court of Protection Judge recently queried  the need to make a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). He had presided over many cases where LPA’s had gone wrong but those cases are very few in number compared to the number of LPA’s created and used properly each year.

If you make an LPA you will ensure that you can decide who will help you to manage your money and/or your affairs and/or your health decisions if you were ever to lose the mental capacity to make decisions for yourself.

With an  increasingly aging population with reducing mental capacity LPA’s are becoming even more important and it is essential to choose attorneys who will work together and whom you can absolutely trust to act in your best interests.
